CV


I completed a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Parma, supported by the National Institute of High Mathematics INdAM, a merit based scholarship.
I then got a Master in Mathematics from the University of Torino.
In those same years, I was accepted in the Allievi Honors Program of Collegio Carlo Alberto, where I pursued a Master in Mathematics and Statistics, supervised by Igor Pruenster and Antonio Lijoi.
In 2020 I completed my PhD in Statistics at the University of Pennsylvania, supervised by Ed George and Shane Jensen.
In 2020-2022 I have been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Torino, advised by Stefano Favaro, sponsored by the ERC grant NBEB-SSP.

Currently, I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Statistics at the University of Edinburgh, School of Mathematics.

  • JASA Reproducibility Award 2023 for the paper "Crime in Philadelphia: Bayesian Clustering with Particle Optimization".
  • Savage Award (Applied Methodology), ASA & ISBA, 2021.
  • Donald S. Murray Prize for Excellence in Teaching, University of Pennsylvania, 2020.
  • Best Talk Prize, BAyesian Young Statistician Meeting, 2018.
  • First year award, Wharton Doctoral Program Fellowship, 2015.
